Other famous touristic places are Plaza de la Constitución, Metropolitan Cathedral, National Palace, and the Aztec temple ruins called Templo Mayor.

Semester exchange at ITAM
The university holds 38 academic programs divided over 5 business fields. When you are going to ITAM for your semester exchange you will be able to select a minimum of 4 courses per semester according to your own wishes. Each credit you can obtain is equal to 0,5 hour per week of class, meaning that when you have a course of 6 ECTS you will have a 3-hour class each week for one semester. Each semester accounts for 16 weeks, which is 4 months.
Many of the courses are taught in Spanish and therefore the university recommends you to obtain a B1 level Spanish before arrival. Nevertheless, each semester ITAM offers 30 to 40 courses taught in English for the non-Spanish speakers. Going to Mexico is a great opportunity to improve this and there are also Spanish language courses given for which you can obtain credits.
When you arrive in the beautiful city, the university has organized a compulsory orientation session. This is a full day for you learn about the campus and all the facilities it has to offer. Housing in Mexico City
ITAM does not operate any houses and is therefore not able to directly help you with your accommodation. However, the International Office provides assistance by finding off-campus housing for international students.
The advantage is that Mexico City has a relatively low cost of living, and therefore renting an apartment yourself for a fair price shouldn’t be too difficult. We do recommend though that if you are renting not from an organization, to first check out the accommodation when you’re actually there, instead of paying the deposit and first-month rent already from your home country. It is a big city and in order to not get scammed we recommend to either first stay in a hostel for the first days or to rent from an organization that is known for international student housing.
We at Tellanto.com have preselected the best houses for you to live at based on the requirements that the house has an English speaking landlord, has a good price and location, private bedroom and possibly a private bathroom, a safe neighborhood and where you can live with other international students. All to help you with an unforgettable time in Mexico City! Have a look at our Student Housing.
