ITAM, Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México

ITAM Universidad

The Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, or better known as ITAM, is the tip of the bill when it comes to academic universities in Latin America. The well recognized private university provides Ph.D. and many high-quality Undergraduate programs to more than 5,000 undergraduates and graduates. If you’re looking for a good university in an even more amazing city then this will be the way to go. Let’s dive right in.

ITAM’s recognition

ITAM attracts students from all over the world for their rigorous research and academic standards. All study programs offer a challenging curriculum and ITAM is definitely in the race to be the best university in Mexico. It has been recognized as the university with one of the best undergraduate Accounting, Business, Economics, International Relations, Law and Political Science school in Mexico. That’s not nearly it, all programs are officially accredited by the Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP) and have multiple accreditations for its program by the United States, United Kingdom and Europe. Ok, enough bragging.

Campuses of ITAM

ITAM is located in Mexico City, at the center of the country. There are two different campuses. One for undergraduate programs and the other one for graduate programs. You’re probably not used to what a campus has to offer, but it’s definitely something different than the universities in Europe. Let’s have a look at the faculties at ITAM.

Facilities at ITAM

To improve your learning experience that campus is equipped with all the facilities you need, such as a library and laboratories. If that’s too boring for you then you can join one of the student associations that make everyone’s experience at the ITAM incredible. Or you join one of the sports teams, cultural activities, or music and theater groups. As like many universities in Latin America is it ITAM’s goal to create a community of students that want to expand their knowledge while having fun in a nice environment. You can be part of that!

Student life in Mexico City

Mexico City is the capital of Mexico and truly one of the most interesting and diverse cities in the world. If you love the cuisine, shopping, colonial neighborhoods, crazy nightlife or great parks then get the biggest marker you can find and write it on top of your bucket list.

It’s also a great location to travel around. Being in the center of Mexico it enables you to visit many of the surrounding cities. But there should be enough in the city itself to have you covered for several months. The historical center and the floating gardens of Xochimilco have already been declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Other famous touristic places are Plaza de la Constitución, Metropolitan Cathedral, National Palace, and the Aztec temple ruins called Templo Mayor.

The affordable cost of living compared to European standards give an even more comfortable lifestyle. The food is amazing and the nightlife insane. If there’s one place you will never get bored off then it’s Mexico City.
